York Hospital is currently looking to hire a clinical Microbiology Technical Specialist / Supervisor.
Some essential job functions include
- Overseeing the operation of the Microbiology department
- Bench work including reading plates, setting up IDs and Sensitivities, etc.
- Working with the latest instrumentation such as the Bruker MALDI, BD Phoenix, BD Max
- Development and maintenance of procedures
- Maintaining Quality Assurance and Quality Control of media and tests
- Performing and receiving CAP inspections
- Ordering of supplies
- Orientation and training of new staff
Requirements include a Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology or Bachelor Degree in scientifically related field and one year of clinical laboratory experience, MT (ASCP) preferred.
